Overview

Segment is a customer data platform for collecting, cleaning, and routing event data to analytics and marketing tools. Use this node to identify users, track events, and manage groups.

Authentication

Basic Auth (Write Key) via Secure Vault. Add your Segment source Write Key in the credential configuration modal.

Key parameters:

User ID — the unique identifier for the user (required for all operations)
Traits (Identify) — user profile attributes like name, email, plan
Event (Track) — the event name (e.g., Order Completed)
Properties (Track) — event-specific key-value data
Group ID (Group) — identifier for the organization or group

Tips

Always provide a consistent User ID across Identify and Track calls to link events to users.
Segment events are routed to your configured destinations (analytics, CRM, etc.) automatically.
