Pricing & Fees Reference
Complete reference for all fees on indie.money.
Fee Schedule
Passes are a balance on your indie.money account, valid on every network. They are not tokens in your wallet.
Cost Per Run (Producer Perspective)
Formula:
Total cost = Builder's execution price + API costs (tracked from the provider, or the published included/frontier token rates on a platform key once today's included units are gone)
Example:
Builder sets run price at $0.50. API costs via Builder's keys in buyers-pay mode add $0.05.
Producer pays: $0.50 + $0.05 = $0.55 per run
Three ways to pay {#payment-modes-ref}
All three modes go through the same per-execution API budget rules — see API cost enforcement by key source.
Topping up Your prepaid balance {#prepaid-balance}
Go to your dashboard → Balance → Top up. Pay in USDC (or another supported stablecoin) with the same wallet you use elsewhere. Funds land instantly. Withdraw back to your wallet anytime from the same screen.
Earnings you already hold on the platform can't top up a balance directly — cash them out to USDC first (the 10% conversion fee applies), then top up. The same applies to a workflow's run budget.
API cost enforcement by key source {#enforcement}
For workflows where buyers pay AI usage, every workflow run reserves a per-execution API budget (set by the Builder when publishing). What happens when actual API costs would exceed that budget depends on which key source the workflow uses:
When AI usage is included in the workflow's price: the buyer's balance reserves only the run price (plus the $0.001 payment-processing fee on pay-per-run calls). The Builder's key safety limit is a private limit on their own keys — buyers never see it, and it never changes what they hold or pay.
Recovery from a paused workflow: top up your slot budget, then click Reactivate in the dashboard. Both pause reasons (per-call ceiling reached and slot balance exhausted) share the same recovery path.
See: Pricing & Billing → What happens when costs are high, Pricing & Billing → Why my workflow paused.
Revenue Per Run (Builder Perspective)
Formula:
Builder receives = Execution price
At $0.50 execution price: Builder receives $0.50 per run.
Earning Example:
- 1,000 runs × $0.50 = $500 total
- Lands in your balance: $500.00. The only cut is 10% if you cash out to USDC ($10 minimum).
Settlement Cycle
Execution fees are settled within a few minutes via on-chain batch transactions. Earnings appear in your balance after settlement.
Settlement Timeline:
- Run executes → Money reserved when the run starts
- ~5 min batch processing
- Lands in balance (no waiting days)
